Fargo Public Library to Host Events for Kids and Teens on Friday, July 10

An Adopt-A-Dino event for kids, a geology event for teens, and a movie screening are planned

FARGO, NORTH DAKOTA – The Fargo Public Library has three events scheduled for Friday, July 10, for kids and teens as part of the Summer Reading Challenge.

First, area youngsters are invited to the children’s area at the downtown Main Library to find hidden dinosaurs as part of the Adopt-A-Dino event on Friday, July 10, starting at 11 a.m. Each child can search for a prehistoric friend to bring home, fill out an adoption certificate and get to know their dinosaur with a couple of related activities. One dinosaur per child, and no registration is required. For further details, contact the Children’s Services Department at 701.241.1495 or Ki...@fargolibrary.org.

Next, as part of the library’s summer movie series, the Dr. James Carlson Library will host a screening of the movie “The Good Dinosaur” (rated PG) on Friday, July 10, at 1 p.m. All ages are welcome to attend this screening, and free popcorn will be served. Children ages 9 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. For more details, call the Children’s Services Department at 701.241.1495.

Finally, teens are invited to attend the “Unearth a Red River Valley Story” event at the downtown Main Library on Friday, July 10, starting at 2 p.m. Presented by staff from the FM Science Museum, this session will teach teens about the rocks and fossils that can be found here in the Red River Valley. Participants will also get hands-on experience digging for fossils as part of this event. This program is for ages 12 to 18. Space is limited; pre-registration is required at fargolibrary.org. For further details, contact Anna at 701.298.6960 or Te...@fargolibrary.org.

These events are part of the Fargo Public Library’s free 2026 Summer Reading Challenge that runs through Aug. 15. This all-ages program offers a summer filled with stories, weekly special events and activities for kids, teens and adults. Anyone can participate by reading, attending events and completing challenges.
