Fargo Police Arrest Suspect with Assistance from Red River Valley SWAT Team
Luther Brewington, a 45-year-old Fargo resident, was arrested for Terrorizing, Preventing Arrest, Harassment of 911 and an outstanding warrant
FARGO, NORTH DAKOTA – On Friday, January 2, at approximately 9:52 p.m., the Red River Regional Dispatch Center began receiving numerous phone calls from a male making threats toward a local hotel and the people inside.
Officers were able to identify the suspect as Luther Brewington, a 45-year-old Fargo resident. Officers went to Brewington’s residence in the 3400 block of Fiechtner Drive South and attempted to speak with him. Brewington refused to exit his residence despite officers’ repeated orders to do so.
Due to Brewington’s criminal history and the threats made, the Red River Valley SWAT Team was activated. The SWAT Team deployed several flash-sound devices, after which Brewington exited his residence and surrendered to officers. Brewington was taken into custody without further incident at approximately 2:42 a.m. on Saturday, January 3.
Brewington was arrested for Terrorizing, Preventing Arrest, Harassment of 911 and an outstanding warrant. He was transported to the Cass County Jail.
