West Fargo Police Department arrests suspect for stolen vehicle Monday, Feb. 9

(West Fargo, N.D. – Feb. 10, 2026) At approximately 10:15 p.m., Monday, Feb. 9, the West Fargo Police Department was dispatched to the 3300 block of Sheyenne Street for reports of a stolen vehicle. The caller reported that the keys were left in the vehicle while it was running at the time of the theft.   At approximately 10:34 p.m., officers received a Flock Safety Camera System notification that the stolen vehicle had been located near the intersection of 7th Avenue E. and 17th Street E. Officers quickly located the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop. The vehicle attempted to flee as officers pinned the vehicle in a cul-de-sac near the 700 block of 50th Street S. The vehicle was successfully brought to a stop before a pursuit was initiated.   The driver, Andrew Charles LaFountaine, a 26-year-old male with no permanent address, was arrested for felony theft – possession, theft from motor vehicle, driving under suspension, driving under the influence, driving under the influence – refusal, and multiple probation violations.   There were no injuries to the suspect or emergency personnel.
