The Fargo Police Department Continues to Investigate Homicide

Officers responded to the 2200 block of 6th Ave. S. on Monday, June 24

 

FARGO, NORTH DAKOTA – On Monday, June 24, at 8:16 p.m., Fargo Police officers were dispatched to the 2200 block of 6th Ave. S. for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered a victim with serious injuries from a gunshot wound to the face. The suspect(s) had fled the scene before officers arrived.

 

The victim was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. Despite life-saving efforts, the victim was pronounced deceased. The FPD will release the name of the victim in approximately 24 hours, pending notification of the next-of-kin.

 

After thoroughly investigating the scene and speaking with witnesses, Fargo Police officers believe the involved parties were known to each other. The investigation is ongoing, with The Fargo Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division working diligently to uncover more details about the circumstances surrounding this incident.

As an update to yesterday’s news release, the FPD is identifying 24-year-old Fargo resident Zion Brooks as the victim in this homicide.

 

The Fargo Police Department is continuing to seek the public’s assistance in locating J’Veonte Malike Logan, also known as Amire Logan. Logan is a 20-year-old Fargo resident who has been identified as a person of interest in this homicide. The FPD has located the gray 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe that Logan had been seen driving; however, Logan remains outstanding.
