Fargo Public Library’s “Northern Focus” Photography Project for Teens and Adults Seeks Submissions

Entries will be accepted April 1 through May 31, 2026

FARGO, NORTH DAKOTA – Are you an up-and-coming or recreational photographer? The Fargo Public Library is seeking submissions for its seventh annual Northern Focus photography project for adults and teens ages 13 and older. Submissions will be accepted online only from April 1 through May 31, 2026, at fargolibrary.wufoo.com/forms/northern-focus-2026/. All rules and guidelines for the project are available at FargoND.gov/Northern-Focus. For details about the Northern Focus photography project, contact Nicole H. at 701.476.5974 or the Main Library Information Desk at 701.241.1492.

All entries will be included in a photo exhibit at the downtown Main Library in the fall. One photo will be selected as the cover art for the library’s 2026 “Northern Narratives” publication, and 14 photos will be selected and included within this year’s book.

All photos must be taken regionally (within North Dakota or Minnesota) and convey a sense of the people, places and/or happenings that make up the diverse community and region. There is no fee to enter; however, those submitting a photo must certify they are the author and copyright holder of the photo. It is the artist’s responsibility to obtain releases from their subjects. Submitted photos must be suitable for public display and community viewing as determined by the library. Obscene, provocative or otherwise questionable content will not be considered.

This project is supported by the Friends of the Fargo Public Library.

Fargo Public Library events are free and open to the public. For more information about the library, resources, services and a list of upcoming events, call 701.241.1492 or visit fargolibrary.org.
