Dear Friends,
Yesterday 43 human rights activist, civil society leaders, lawyers including myself were arrested from Singh Darbar. We were making protest against blanket Amnesty Bill. Under the International law Amnesty is not possible for serious crimes. There are certain crimes, which considered a crime against humanity, under International law. Amnesty is not allowed for crimes against humanity, serious breachh of Geneva Convention, rape, disappearances and Torture. The genuine peace is not possible without justice, rule of law and guarantee of basic human rights. We were staging a peaceful protest in front of main administrative building of government. We already submitted our Memorandum to PM, Speaker of the House, Prachanda, Sushil Koirala and Bijay Gachhedar. The government had violated our fundamental rights to Peaceful Demonstration and arrested us.
Warm Regards
Dinesh Tripathi
