I am not a fortune teller but to some extent my predictions on certain political developments in our state have come to pass.
As a Secretary-General of UFU then, I knew Prof B.I.C. Ijoma was economical with the truth and, indeed, misleading unsuspecting Ukwuani and Ndosunmili people when he asked us in UFU AGM to forget 2011 and exercise patience as the power brokers in the state/Abuja had agreed to safeguard 2015 for our candidate (Obielum). I have the video.
I knew but kept quiet when our father and brother, Gen Alabi-Isama, though a military strategist, missed it all out this time around when he re-echoed Prof Ijomah's advice in another UFU function, insisting it was wrong for that young chap (FCT) to oppose the Prof openly in UFU AGM as the Prof's advice carried a lot of weight as an insider within the power block.
I knew we had actually run into a problem when, unexpectedly, Paparrazis flooded the tabloids with scenes/pictures of Dr. Uduaghan partying and wining at Ushie in the country home of our flag bearer, Chief Godswill Obielum, at her daughter's wedding. When I shouted from the
roof top, I was admonished that politics had no permanent enemy and that it was party of 2015 calculations!
I knew, we had finally lost focus, when a white elephant project i.e. Ushie - Ashaka road/Aboh Polytechnics contracts were hurriedly awarded
I knew something was wrong somewhere, and was forced to ask our governorship aspirants (through this medium) to address Ndokwa nation now as their continued silence was no longer golden, so also the absence of publicity on their activities
were becoming increasingly embarrassing to the nation
I knew also that it was the height of conspiracy theory when, suddenly, our father and brother, Gen Alabi-Isama, who is still learning and understanding the culture and tradition of our people, was made the President of Anioma - a group made up of the Ukwuani, Enuani and Ika people.
However, despite the above, I am still optimistic that the battle to Osadebe house is not yet concluded and must be fought on a do or die basis this time around.
To enable us win this fight, we must close ranks now and work together to let other Anioma group know that we are the senior partner when it comes to issues concerning Delta North - reasons being that we have the population and economic power.
As a first step, I will appeal to our Team Leader, Mr. Sylvester
Ogbolu-Otutu to make another sacrifice to Ndokwa nation once again by assisting us with people he can work with to:
1. Collate the names/credentials of at least three formidable Ndokwa aspirants in PDP with another aspirant in the opposition party with a petition to the Presidency immediately as our preferred candidates. The petition must mention that Ndokwa, as a nation, totally rejects the Asagba's list as he had manipulated the screening exercise to disenfranchise us, even though we are the most populated ethnic and more economically viable group in the district.
2. NNU should, as a matter of urgency, consider preparing her petition with published facts of marginalization against Ndokwa to the Presidency and insist on why Ndokwa person is most suitable for Osadebey's house come 2015 - see Ndokwa Study Group release of marginalization
3. UFU and NDU, should consider taking a fraction of the largesee of a recent political outing (if not yet returned), to insert a full page advertorial in the national dailies to publicly reject Asagba's alleged list to the Presidency with reasons/facts why Ndokwa should be given the opportunity to occupy Osadebey's house in 2015. They should also be a threat to reconsider our political alliance with
the ruling party if our petition is not favourably considered
4. Members of the webgroup must close ranks, and consider raising a fund through agreed dedicated account, to support our youths' logistics to carry out placards to PDP's headquarters in Asaba and Abuja to protest the role of Asagba of Asaba on the alleged list submitted to the Presidency
5. General Godwin Odolane Alabi-Isama should consider resigning as the President of Anioma Group in protest of the Asagba's unfatherly role in the alleged list to the
Presidency. All Ndokwa members of the group should stop attending their meeting in protest
6. NNU should direct all Onotu Ukus/Ezes in Ndokwa not to honour any meeting convened by the Asagba of Asaba.
7. NNU should please, as a matter of urgency, cause a letter to be written to all Ndokwa key politicians and political office holders to support this protest with a warning to declare anyone found to be working against our collective desire as a persona non grata.
To me, 2015 is not over until it is over.
Abel Onweugbuosah Emah-Iyesele
