Thank you Barrister Ken Oseji for weighing in quickly. I could not come out immediately, so that people will not say "there he goes trying to claim a person from Abavo as an Ebedei person! Lol".

In addition to your clarification, I also knew Sunday Oliseh's grand-father around 1993/94 in Unor-Ebedei. He was already an Okwa at that time. He was a tall, handsome, light-skinned, imposing figure of a man who always spoke proudly of the great accomplishments of his children and grand-children. He always shared many anecdotes with my late grand-father, Ogbolu Otutu. A younger cousin of mine (Chuks) whom I took from Unor-Ebedei to live with me in Lagos, also told me a lot of things about Sunday Olisheh's  grand-father; and what his children (these 'Aunts', etc.) did for their father in Ebedei, after the man had already retired to live there.

We have always seen and accepted Sunday Oliseh as an Ebedei person, and hope that he will always remember his roots, in spite of any additional emotional attachments that he may also have to Abavo.

Unor-Ebedei will always be proud of its sons and daughters who are truly descended from Ebedei Clan.

Having said all that, we wish Mr. Sunday Oliseh a successful tenure as coach of the Super Eagles Nigerian National Football Team. May the same spirit of success that inspired his superb goal during the France '98 World Cup  also lead the Super Eagles to score many great goals and be victorious in the near and medium term, for the eternal glory of our dear country, Amen.

All,
Let us not go into another controversy again. I know Sunday Oliseh's Dad. His name is Sunday Oliseh too! I know the grand Dad, the aunts also. One of the aunts is the wife of Senator Osakwe. Although the grand Dad lived all his life at Abavo, they are indigenous Ebedei people by birth The grand Dad was buried at Ebedei some few years ago. Leave the video matter!

The Nigeria Football Federation has confirmed that former Nigeria international Sunday Oliseh will coach the Super Eagles with a team that will include a Dutch as an assistant.
A manager close to Oliseh in Europe, who has full knowledge of the talks between the NFF and Oliseh in London, confirmed to The PUNCH on Wednesday that the former Eagles captain had accepted the job offer and would work with an assistant from Europe.
He said, “I can confirm that Sunny (Oliseh) has accepted the offer and he will be working with an assistant coming down from Europe as well.”
On Wednesday, the NFF confirmed they were in talks with the Belgium-based Nigerian to replace Stephen Keshi, who was kicked out as Eagles coach on Saturday. Oliseh met with NFF president Amaju Pinnick and Austin Jay Jay Okocha in London on Tuesday.
“An offer has been made, and there is an understanding, but we have to work out the final details of the agreement in a few days. Of course, the Executive Board has to give approval for his appointment based on the final terms to be agreed,” Felix Anyansi-Agwu, Chairman of the NFF Technical and Development Committee said on Wednesday.
The NFF added that Oliseh would come with a “foreign technical assistant, whose job description will centre around development programmes, and working with clubs’ youth teams and certified academies towards developing the game from the grassroots.
“Current stand-in coach Salisu Yusuf will also be in the new team, but with greater devotion to the home-based team, otherwise known as Super Eagles B, and will be the interface between the technical crew and the home boys.”
From the details of the package being finalised, Oliseh is expected to come up with a five-year developmental plan “to fashion a unique playing and coaching philosophy for al

Chief Eugene Ossai,

For writing this foolish comment, and you are a man married to an Ebedei woman, which makes you the in-law of Ebedei people shows that you are not a wise man.

Look at your level of thinking, and you call yourself an Onotu.

We do not have to claim anybody. The ancestral lineages would forever remain what they are - and any true born person knows where he or she is from.

Since you have publicly blasphemed against Ebedei people by attempting to deny the natural indigeneship of an Ebedei man, you are hereby fined one male ox (bull) and N200,000.00 (Two hundred thousand naira) which you should deliver within the next 90 days to the Okpala-Uku of Unor-Ebedei. Until you pay these fines, you remain estranged and ostracized from all Ebedei people.

You may appeal to your father-in-law in Unor-Ebedei, Chief Peter Osamete Ovili and let us see the result.
