Tuesday Group "Thank You" Day - July 11

Dear Colleagues,
Last Friday, Tuesday Group Co-Chairman Charlie Dent (R-PA) was joined by 20 of his Republican colleagues on a letter to Speaker Paul Ryan calling for, among other things, a new bipartisan, bicameral budget agreement that sets spending levels for FY 2018 (see letter attached). Absent such an agreement, the signers note they are “reticent to support any budget resolution on the House floor.”
This is the first public expression by a large block of Republicans in support of a new bipartisan budget agreement—a stand that was not easy for many of them to make. As such, NDD United is coordinating a “Thank You Day” on Tuesday, July 11 to show our support and amplify their message just as the House Budget Committee may markup its measure that cuts nondefense discretionary spending by more than $7 billion below current levels.
We urge all organizations---especaily state and local organizations from states/districts of signers—to join NDD United in sending letters and recognizing their leadership on social media. We’ve made it easy for you! Attached you will find:
1) Pre-addressed letters to all Tuesday Group signers (“DraftLettersALL.DOCX”). All you have to do is customize with your issue/signature and then copy and paste onto your letterhead!
2) A spreadsheet with the district and contact information for all the Tuesday Group signers (“SignerContactInfo.xlsx”). We recommend sending your formatted letters to the Legislative Directors and Chiefs of Staff for each Member of Congress—their emails are included on the spreadsheet.
3) Pre-formatted Tweets to all Tuesday Group signers, including their Twitter handles and our hashtag #RaiseTheCaps (“NDDUnitedThankYouDayTweets.docx”). Feel free to customize these Tweets, but again, all you need to do is copy and paste.
