NDD United Letter in Response to 302b Allocations

Good Afternoon NDD United,

 

Please see the attached letter to Chairman Frelinghuysen and Ranking Member Lowey signed by the co-chairs of NDD United  on behalf of our community.

 

As the letter states, we are concerned that the House Appropriations Committee’s current path forward on fiscal year (FY) 2018 spending bills undermines critical NDD functions. Specifically, setting a spending level for defense that violates the Budget Control Act’s (BCA) spending caps and breaks the longstanding, bipartisan parity principle between defense and NDD programs could lead to a breakdown of the appropriations process and risk a fiscal showdown this fall.

 

We encourage you all to include a call for Congress to “raise the caps” and maintain parity as you respond to the individual appropriations bills. Feel free to borrow liberally from our language.
