Notre Dame elevates Richard Scott to Varsity Head Football Coach
“Only the 5th Sr. Head Football Coach in the 56 year history of the
Juggler Football Program’’
VANCOUVER, BC –Notre Dame High School announced today the appointment
of Richard Scott, as Senior Varsity Head Football Coach. Coach Scott
becomes just the 5th Head Football Coach in the 56 year history of the
Notre Dame Juggler Football Program. A resident of North Vancouver,
he has served for the last 17 years as Notre Dame's Junior Varsity
Head Football Coach. During his junior coaching career he captured 2
provincial titles, 1995 and 1997. His junior coaching career record
at Notre Dame is 107-69. Between 1994 and 1998, he served as an
assistant coach with Football BC's Provincial under 19 team. He was
also a member of the coaching staff on the 1993 Notre Dame Sr.
Provincial Championship team. Coach Scott has also served on the BC
High School Football Association Board of Directors for the last 14
years.
Prior to joining Notre Dame, Richard was an assistant coach on the
1991 Vancouver College Sr. Varsity Provincial Championship Team.
He is a graduate of Handsworth Secondary in North Vancouver, and
played his College Football at Simon Fraser University from 1986 to
1990.
Coach Scott has obtained the following degrees, BA History SFU, BA
Ed UBC, and a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from City
University. He is currently the Social Studies Department Head at
Notre Dame.
Richard is married to Maureen MacPherson (ND alumni 1988), and they
have two daughters, Kayla and Alyssa .
