In another matter, my son, Will, is in his second season of high school rugby at St. Ignatius here in Cleveland. He is 16 and just loving it. When he joined up last year I dug into an old box in the back of my closet and got my ND rugby reversible practice shirt. The green is now almost brown after countless washings. He was delighted. My wife says she has trouble washing it because he wears it so often.

Presently he is in Paris. The team went to southern France for spring break playing matches in Bordeaux, Rouen and Paris. They have an entourage of 300! Lots of moms, dads and siblings tagged along. Final game is tomorrow followed by a closing banquet. He returns Saturday.

Here are a few shots. One is he in the old shirt. One in uniform and one taken in France with his friend and teammate, Stanley. In that shot he is on the left in case old age has confused any of you lads. As to the mop of curly hair and the dashing good looks please do not blame that on me. It is his mother’s fault. He is six foot and weighs 180 pounds. His coach told me, “ Will is built for power.” This season they moved him from prop to second row. He loves it.
