Here is the link to Bob Stek’s pastiche I mentioned in our discussion yesterday. It’s interesting (and enjoyable) to get another view of Sherlock’s family history. 

Johanna mentioned that the website where this resides has some questionable material. I haven’t reviewed the site so just be aware.

What I was trying to say is “read the tags” if you explore further. There’s all kinds of material on AO3 - and some really great stories - but you’re responsible for your own experience. Some of the stories are classic-style pastiches; some are explicit pairings.

Reading through your primer on fic is interesting and it reminded me that the Baker Street Elementary boys are doing is a another form of fic, or possibly pastiche (maybe not) however you want to describe that. I hadn't really put that together, but your article made it click, particularly this passage:
Fan Fic is simply something written using characters created by someone else. (Which means most superhero comics these days could be considered fic, albeit an officially recognized variant.)
