Hello, Sherlockian friends!
We will be meeting at the Fitchburg Library on Sunday, May 17, at 3 PM, to discuss “His Last Bow”. This is the final Sherlock Holmes story, chronologically speaking. Originally published in 1917, it is set just before World War I.
As one fan described it (spoilers), it’s the one where “Mr Holmes and Dr Watson capture a German spy and drink all his wine.”
If you want to hear Holmes’ patriotic speech, it’s performed by Basil Rathbone in the final scene of “Sherlock Holmes and the Voice of Terror”.
Hope to see you on Sunday!
