This month we will be discussing The Adventure of the Beryl Coronet.
This story was first published in
The Strand Magazine in England in May 1892 and then in the United States in the June 1892 issue of
Strand. The story was then included in the book
The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, published in October 1892. Since then it has been used for many radio shows, pastiches, movies, and television. It was one of the earliest
movies produced as a silent, black & white film in 1912.
As interesting as our discussion about the story will be, we will be discussing other things. A decision should be made about our annual birthday party celebration. Also, members will be discussing Sherlock-related travels. I
am especially looking forward to hearing about the exhibition in Minneapolis.
We are meeting at the Fitchburg Public Library this Sunday, December 18 from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm. I look forward to seeing many of our members at our discussion and encourage all of you to bring guests.
