Hi all,

It's been a very busy month, but I was reminded that I hadn't sent out the photo album from our Sherlock Holmes Birthday Luncheon yet.

Thanks to all who attended, I hope you enjoyed yourselves. The food was delicious, the conversations were sparkling, and the company was tremendous.

Unfortunately, they didn't offer coffee and curaçao*, but they DID have a Caffè alla Nonno's, which had tequila and a bunch of other things (including whipped cream)...but I can't remember what, because of the tequila.

Here's a link to an album with the photos that were on my phone, please feel free to add yours to share with the group:

Don't forget that this Sunday is our discussion of The Adventure of the Devil's Foot and then next week Wednesday there's the Oshkosh Sherlock Holmes Club meeting (at the UW Oshkosh).

Apropos of this month's story discussion, did you know about this fruit juice and mocktail beverage producer?

*You may recall that we chose Nonno's Italian Ristorante as an homage to Goldini's [garish Italian] Restaurant, Gloucester Road, Kensington.

from BRUCE:
Am dining at Goldini's Restaurant, Gloucester Road, Kensington.
Please come at once and join me there. Bring with you a jemmy, a dark
lantern, a chisel, and a revolver.
     S.H.

It was a nice equipment for a respectable citizen to carry through
the dim, fog-draped streets. I stowed them all discreetly away in my
overcoat and drove straight to the address given. There sat my friend
at a little round table near the door of the garish Italian
     restaurant.

"Have you had something to eat? Then join me in a coffee and curacao.
Try one of the proprietor's cigars. They are less poisonous than one
would expect. Have you the tools?"

Greetings,

I feel bad because I had to miss this year's birthday party. Not too bad, since I am truly loving the weather in Arizona (dig, dig).

But I have to comment on the cake. Once again, Jim and Vicki have outdone themselves in providing the cake. Every year, they work with the baker to create a great birthday cake. I would have loved to eaten a piece of it.

A big THANK YOU to Jim and Vicki!
