to Notorious Canary-Trainers
This Sunday we will be discussing The Adventure of the Copper Beeches. This story was first published in The Strand Magazine in England in June 1892 and then in the United States in the July 1892 issue of Strand. The story was the final story included in The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, published in October 1892.

Since then it has been used for many radio shows, pastiches, movies, and television. This story is partially told by one of my favorite Violets of the Canon (we've already met one other in our current trip through, can you name her?)

COPP was adapted as one of three silent Éclair films released in 1912 that were supervised by Conan Doyle himself. An additional five films were released in 1913, all eight were loose adaptations of the original stories. Copper Beeches is the only one to have survived (click the link to watch it)!

We are meeting at the Fitchburg Public Library this Sunday, February 19 from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm. Remember, if you ever wonder which story we're reading and when our next meeting is, you can now refer to http://canarytrainers.com for our current reading and discussion schedule.

Several of us may also attend the Legion of Zoom's "Sitting Zoom at 221b Baker Street" online conference Sunday, so we will have a virtual meeting set up for anyone to use to attend our meeting virtually—those details are below. (Thanks to Dave for volunteering to be the eyes and ears in the meeting.)

Here's the Zoom info:
