I tried golfing in my youth, I prefer hiking and camping. It's all of the enjoyment of golfing without the frustration of trying to bend a ball to my will...and you can drink at both, and I like the camping attire more than the golfing outfits. If anyone else is interested, please reach out to Bob. There's no concrete plan, but if interest, I'm sure you can be involved in the planning.

Subject: A Sherlockian golf event

A few of us have been discussing the possibility of having a golf event for Sherlockians who like to play golf. Although there are only passing references to golf in the Canon, ACD wrote most of the stories and HOUN after a golfing vacation.  That's all we need to know to start this group...of course a bottle will be present.

If you or any of your Sherlockian friends are interested please respond, and if a critical mass is present you will hear further. We are thinking of the first event to be in the midwest, but there are no plans set yet and EVERYTHING is on the table.

I, too, did try golf for a short period of time in my youth.  I subscribe to Mark Twain's theory.  It is a good walk spoiled.  To those who golf - have fun
