Hi Canary-Trainers!

Jon and Linda and I were just on a call last night, actually, where they announced this was coming—what fun! Because of this event (I plan to attend), it turns out that I'll be heading to Chicago on the Friday morning of the conference, so if anyone wants a lift in that direction Friday morning, I can probably fit two or three with me. Happy to have your company.

We are so pleased and excited to announce an additional event for the “And it is Always 1895" Conference.  On Friday, October 23, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. we will be treated to a special event at the Newberry Library.

The event will be conducted as follows:
We will be divided into two groups, which will flip flop half way through the event.  There will be one section on an overview and viewing of highlights with Newberry curators from the C. Frederick Kittle Collection of Doyleana and the collection of Starrett materials.  The other section will be a  building tour to learn about the history of the Newberry Library as both an institution and an architectural landmark, including how to conduct research at the library.  The sections will be switch so that everyone gets both presentations.  There is no charge for the event.

They will only allow 55 people to attend and we must be there by 10:45 a.m..  We will accept the first 55 people who register with us for this event.  There is no fudge factor for more people.  To register you have to send an email to us, but please note: you must have registered for the conference in order to register for the Newberry event.

Transportation is on your own.  We will make recommendations for places to eat lunch.
