On Glen’s behalf - although I think I’ve figured out the issue. I don’t want to miss his write-ups!

This month we will be discussing The Adventure of the Red Circle. We will be back to meeting at the Fitchburg Public Library. Our meeting will start at 3:00 PM and is scheduled to end by 4:30 PM.

The Adventure of the Red Circle was published in two parts. It was first published in The Strand Magazine in the UK in March-April 1911. The first publication in the US by Strand was in April-May 1911.

The story was made into a short silent film in 1922 by Stoll Pictures. It was also used by Granada Television in 1994 for part of its Sherlock Holmes series starring Jeremy Brett. The story also has been used for numerous radio adaptations.

I won't be saying much about the story other than it involves countries other than England. Because of that, I suspect Doyle's portrayl of people from other countries will spark a lot of discussion.

Oncce again, we are meeting at the Fitchburg Public Library on Sunday, September 21. I hope to see you there.

Also, don't forget that Captain Dan Nale, the head detective in the Madison Police Department is also going to be speaking for the first half hour of our meeting or so, so please try to arrive promptly at 3 pm (I will get there early to receive him and get him set up in the room). I'd love to take a group picture with him when he's done—I'm in talks to potentially get the event written up in one of the local papers, and it would be fun to have a photo op with him.
