I've mentioned this to several of you already, but there will be an opportunity to join yet another reading group in November (we'll also be kicking that one off with a Zoom).

I'm not really leading that one, as it's going to cover The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes by Vincent Starrett and will feature Ray Betzner and other Starrett scholars who have a lot more to say about it than I do.

Here's more info if you're interested (and please respond to me directly if you'd like to join in on some more reading fun—if you already know you're on the list, you don't need to reply):

I'd like to extend an invitation to you to participate in our group-reading project, The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes Reading Activity (TPLoSHRA) during the month of November. This will be a reading group on the installment plan, so there will be no homework until November (we start the book after the kickoff). One caveat: this is specifically about the Pinnacle 1975 mass-market Pinnacle paperback edition and all of its sundry front-matter.

This reading group was inspired by a post on Ray Betzner's blog, Studies in Starrett:
https://www.vincentstarrett.com/blog/2018/11/25/tplosh-this-time-its-personal

We'll be gathering for a virtual meeting on Wednesday, November 5th, at 7pm Central Time (just a heads-up, this will be five days after the return to standard time) to kick off the read. It'll be an opportunity for folks to chat and get to know one another as well as to share experiences with Vincent Starrett's works and The Private Life, in particular.

If you don't send me a reply saying you'd like to join that group, I'll consider that an RSVP: No, and I won't bother you with emails about it again.
