Hi folks,
I am running the Great North Run (half marathon) on Sunday 5th October and I have decided to raise money for the Special Care Baby Unit at Mayday Hospital. As you probably know a couple of hours after Oliver was born he became very ill and spent a week being looked after in the Unit. If it hadn't been for the excellent care and attention he received he may not have pulled through and become the bundle of fun he is today. The race is 6 days before his first birthday and I therefore couldn't think of a better cause to run for.
As the Special Care Baby Unit Charity is not registered with 'Just Giving' I have not been able to set up a website like I did when I ran for Cancer Research 2 years ago. I have therefore got to do it the old fashioned way and collect the money myself. I would therefore be grateful if you could either give me your donations as cash, send me a cheque or transfer money directly into my account, details below. Once I have completed the race, I will total up the donations and write a personal cheque out to the charity.
