Hi, can anyone volunteer to be a speaker or host a college table at this event?

I will be out of the country at the CHI conference and a little traveling afterward, but I think networking at this event could help us find some teachers and mentors for our ExLENT program.

Hi Tiffany,
The email below is for Wake County Schools. I am a part of their CS advisory team. They are doing a Symposium for HS students. Let me know whether you would like to participate in this or have the lab participate in this event.

All the best,

Dear Marnie of the NCSU Department of Computer Science,
I hope this message finds you well. We are excited to invite you to participate as a career fair vendor and/or presenter at our upcoming CTE Design Symposium on April 22, 2026
The CTE Design Symposium is a one-day, immersive experience designed for high school students in grades 9–12 to explore how design thinking connects to a wide range of career pathways, including digital media, animation, business, marketing, fashion, entrepreneurship, and technology. The event will bring together students, educators, and industry professionals to highlight real-world applications of creativity, innovation, and problem-solving.
Throughout the day, students will:
  • Rotate through hands-on design labs
  • Participate in a college and career expo
  • Engage in an interactive opening session focused on innovation and design
  • Observe or participate in a DIM3NSION Pop-Up Design Challenge, where student teams collaborate to solve a design-based problem
We would be honored to have you join us in one or more of the following ways:
  • Hosting a table at the college and career fair
  • Serving as a guest presenter or panelist
  • Sharing insights about career pathways, workforce skills, and industry trends
Your participation provides students with invaluable exposure to career possibilities and helps them understand how classroom learning connects to real-world opportunities.
If you are interested in participating or would like additional information, please let us know by Wednesday, February 11th. We would be happy to discuss how your involvement can align with your organization’s goals and availability.
Thank you for considering this opportunity to inspire and support the next generation of creative and innovative professionals. We look forward to the possibility of partnering with you.
Warm regards,
Emily Sue Temple
