We'd like to congratulate Daniela Valdez-Jasso, a fifth year grad student
in biomathematics, for being selected to receive the NCSU SIAM travel
award to the annual SIAM conference in July. Daniela joined SIAM in 2004
as an undergrad, and will be representing the NCSU chapter during the
conference and participating in the student activities.

Our next SIAM event will be Wednesday April 14, when Scott Pope, a recent
NCSU graduate, will talk about his work as an applied mathematician at
SAS. Details will be forthcoming ... hope to see you then!
