There are 17 days until the Northern California Symposium on Statistics and Operations Research in Sports and I am pleased to announce and addition to the program. There will be a panel discussion titled "Sports Statistics for Fans and Managers". The discussion will be lead by Mike Pesca of National Public Radio and the panelists will be Aaron Schatz of Football Outsiders, Sam Hinkie of the Houston Rockets and Gilbert Fellingham of BYU. Each panelist will bring an unique viewpoint and experience to the topic of how to effectively communicate advanced statistical analysis to fans and managers (www.ncssors.wikidot.com/program).
Registration for the conference will open at 8am, talks will begin at 9am and the symposium will end at 5:15pm. Advanced registration is still open (ncssors.wikidot.com/registration) and full details of the presentations can be seen at www.ncssors.wikidot.com/program I look forward to seeing you all there.
