2009 NEW ENGLAND SYMPOSIUM ON STATISTICS IN SPORTS
Harvard University (Science Center) - Cambridge, Massachusetts
Saturday, September 26, 2009The 2009 New England Symposium on Statistics in Sports will be
a meeting of statisticians and quantitative analysts connected with
sports teams, sports media, and universities to discuss common problems
of interest in statistical modeling and analysis of sports data.
The symposium format will be a mixture of invited talks,
a poster session, and a panel discussion. Students in particular are
encouraged to submit abstracts; a prize will be awarded to the best
student poster as decided by a panel of judges. The proceedings of
the symposium will be published in a special issue of the Journal of
Quantitative Analysis in Sports (JQAS).
ABSTRACTS FOR TALKS AND POSTERS ARE NOW REQUESTED
THE SUBMISSION DEADLINE FOR ABSTRACTS IS JUNE 15, 2009.Please e-mail abstracts as a Word or plain text file by JUNE 15, 2009,
to
ness...@gmail.com for consideration to be on the program.
Abstract instructions:
Abstracts should be no more than 250 words, and should clearly outline
the work that you would like to present. Please indicate whether you would
be willing to present your work only as a talk, only as a poster, or either.
Along with your abstract, please include:
- the title of the presentation
- your name
- your affiliation
- whether you are a student (for poster competition eligibility)
- a contact e-mail address
Decisions for accepting abstracts will be made by June 30, 2009.
