Recycling Program Manager, City of Berkeley

The City of Berkeley has an exciting new opportunity for a Recycling Program Manager to work in Public Works Zero Waste Division. This position is responsible for planning and coordinating a comprehensive solid waste recycling and composting system which incorporates a variety of services, including curbside collection of source-separated materials, a drop-off/buyback recycling center and MRF, and a Transfer Station which accepts refuse, organics, recyclable construction and demolition debris, other recyclable items such as mattresses, and a salvaged materials recovery program. These programs are operated through contractors and directly by the city's Zero Waste Division. In addition, this position is responsible for developing policy and programs to achieve the city's zero waste goals and to meet county and state legislative requirements.
