Position Title: Zero Waste Assistant 

Location: SF Bay Area

Hours: Depends on the project 

Classification: Part-Time Casual 

Pay: $20-$22 per hour

Race to Zero Waste (R20W) is a California environmental non-profit that works with communities specifically on zero waste initiatives. Our project, Zero Waste CA, provides a variety of fee-for-service support to events, public spaces, and municipal sorting. The organization’s mission is to educate communities about the destructive impact of single-use disposables on our environment and provide zero waste solutions and effective alternatives to reduce waste downstream. 

Our Zero Waste Assistant recruiting process is ongoing and is contingent on the project needs. R20W is looking for enthusiastic Zero Waste Assistants’ that are not afraid to get their hands dirty and work on some of the organizations upcoming projects. Some projects include Zero Waste Education (ongoing); Door-to-Door Composting Outreach; Zero Waste Event Services, Waste Characterization Studies and Technical Assistance. 

All Assistants must feel comfort talking to the public, lift up to 30 pounds, and be able to stand for long hours. Training will be provided by our Zero Waste Managers.
