Jim and I are planning a High Altitude Balloon flight on the morning of July 19th.
He is flying a digipeater for the Appalachian Trail Golden Packet event. Having that up over the RTP should be interesting as it could potentially be used across the entire Appalachian Trail.
I hope to fly a Pi-in-the-Sky camera as well, so we may get live images from up there.
More to come as we get closer...

We are still "go" for this balloon launch attempt this Saturday.
Balloon launch at 1000ET in a park south of Garner (exact location to be decided Friday evening).
The current projection shows almost landing back at the launch site. So we hope to pick a launch location east of US421 and south of US42 as there are fewer forests there. But there isn't much for public spaces in that area, so we may end up at Lake Benson Park or similar. More to come on this...

Flight projections continue to be tweaked, but we have picked a launch site that should hopefully cover whatever changes in the next 24 hours:
NSL-95 launch site: Old Honeycutt Road Park, 101 Fitness Dr, Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526
35.581609, -78.761679
I hope to arrive before 9:20am and set up for a 10am launch.
If all goes well, we would have a 12:30pm landing around Angier. Feel free to join us!
