Hey, I know most of the NC Near Space folks will be at BarCampRDU or have been in the past.
I am really hoping to see an NC Near Space talk and would like permission to promote the group on the BarCampRDU site. The URL for the new site is http://trilug.org/barcamp

This link explains in more detail what I am talking about:
http://trilug.org/barcamp/partners/

If I had a logo I would simply add it to the side bar with a link pointing to http://www.ncnearspace.org/

I would also do a blog post saying, hey check out NC Near Space

Yes, I think we should give a talk there.  I have thought that in previous times I have been there, but always thought of it as I was watching the pitches, and was not prepared for the talk then.

So put us down as a yes and we will decide who and what.  We have a slide show prepared that has been given at other places that I think is a good start, but I think it is time to remove some of the info from the slideshow to shorten it up a bit to add in some new stuff.  If someone could forward me what has been presented in the past, I could make a first pass at what I think would be a good talk. For the audience at BarCamp, I think a better direction for the talk is more about this is what we did, and this is how you can do it as well - either as a new project, or to assist with us.

R, I've never been to bar camp so I don't know -- but would the slides from previous presentations help?  If they're not on the ncnearspace site, I am sure I can dig them up.

...Fwiw:  Nobody else was interested at the time and everybody's probably forgotten, but I am dusting them off for a room full of 3rd or 4th graders soon as well...

Bar Camp will probably be at least as technical as, say, DFMA, so you wouldn't want whatever 'lite' version I will come up with, but I am happy to look for any missing resources (:

Yes, the previous slides would be a great starter and would save a lot of time

Btw, there are 53 members on our email list - posting that as that is one of the questions they ask for in the form.  Of course, those are just the ones listening to and offering suggestions on launches - we pull a pretty good crowd wherever we go.

Out of the 53, I know for a fact you have some the most influential people in our local tech community :)
NC Near Space is doing extraordinary things and y'all put on a good show. BarCampRDU just got a whole lot better!
Thanks and I look forward to seeing the talk. If there is anything I can do to help or accommodate, just let me know.

Here is the link to the presentation Jonathan and I gave to TriLUG

(Sorry for the delay in responding… I've spent the last 3 months working towards the Rocketman Triathlon that was this past week where I got to bike around the Kennedy Space Center including the Vehicle Assembly Building and the Space Shuttle Launch Pads. :-)

Cheers,
Tanner
