Dear NCIFL,
As a result of my childcare not materializing, I will be unable to attend SC's Awesome Tournament on Saturday. I will also not be present for the meeting following.
A word of justification here. Last year I similarly had no available child care, and brought my daughter, thinking it would be at least a worthy experiment. Outcome? I was distracted from her and the fencing, she was neglected and bored. Clearly a lose-lose for all involved.
Regarding the NCIFL meeting to take place after SC's tournament. While the room is already reserved, no one has sent in any Agenda items for discussion or action. Therefore, there are several options, to wit:
- Postpone meeting, delegates meet and discuss issues for meeting at that time. No actions No motions made or voted on
- Have Meeting, Hang out, have a good time. However as there are no agenda items submitted, not sure what meeting is about.
- Have meeting, get me on a phone with a conference call (my least favorite option, but I'm there if you want it. Eww.)
- Cancel meeting outright, issues (which no one has suggested) to be discussed online
- Cancel meeting outright, see you in the Spring.
Or some other option not listed here.
Again, no one less happy about me missing the SC tournament and meeting than myself. I look forward to reading replies from delegates online.
Bon chance tout les escrimeurs!
Thom
Ultimately, this is Your League. The role of the president is to moderate, not adjudicate.
