Hey everyone,

I just received an email from the sports director and he basically said that some higher authority wants and is going to be using the gym.  He's trying to work something out for us right now, but he said there's a high chance that we'll end up having to move our tournament date. If Cal Poly can still host their tournament on the original date, that would be awesome.

I'm really sorry about this, especially right after we were trying to organize our tournament schedule earlier. I'll keep everyone updated as I speak with the director if there are any critical updates.

Thanks,

Aaron

Dear all,

This is pretty serious.  Aaron, do your sports people understand how many people are going to arrive and how much revenue your club stands to make, and how (since SC is the first event and has the League Meeting) actually  jeopardizes the entire season?

Feel free to give him my info if you think it will help.

Sincerely,

Thom

Hello all,

Cal Poly was unable to get the 10th or the 17th due to volleyball and basketball games respectively. However, facilities has generously offered the 11th of November to our club.

Before we confirm the date, we'd like to know the league's thoughts on a Sunday tournament. We understand that some of the farther schools might not like the idea of driving back on a Sunday night; however, a Sunday tournament is better than no tournament at all. This also gives league members an easier time of making the league meeting as they (most likely) won't need to worry about late classes/work.

Cal Poly would love to host this tournament as it is long overdue. Please let us know ASAP the league's thoughts we can confirm the 11th before we lose that date as well.

Thanks!

A Nov. 11th tournament is fine for Santa Cruz. As a backup, our sports club director is helping us look into a Nov. 17th opening.

Hello,

Unfortunately, Davis is unable to attend a Sunday tournament in Cal Poly due to the long drive back. We would have to skip medals and dinner and would still barely make it back before our curfew.

Hi Everyone,

Are there any confirmed dates with either Cal Poly or Davis? It's pretty touch to secure rental cars and such here at Cal, so it would be good to know sooner than later. Thanks!

Hi,

Davis doesn't have any confirmed dates yet but our tournament will be sometime in April as always.

Hello,

Sorry about the confusion. I meant Santa Cruz. I seem to have made more errors in that last message than I realized when I sent it.

I put a request in for a Nov 17th tournament after talking with Cal Poly. The sports director said it should be free and that we're just waiting for a final approval.

Anyone have a response--or a reason--for this?
