Dear all,
Warm greetings and salutations. I hope your summer was at least in part restful, though knowing fencers as I do, I suspect many, if not most of you took summer classes.
It's time to start thinking of getting our 2011-2012 season in order, and traditionally, that starts at UCSC with our opening tournament the weekend before Halloween, which this year would be Saturday, 29 October.
This tournament is preceded by the fall League Meeting, at which we discuss issues and concerns for the upcoming season, and at which your delegates vote on motions brought before the League Governing Body.
I also send a warm welcome to Donald Stockton, of UN-Reno, who tells me UNR is interested in joining the league, or at least participating in some events.
I have been hearing rumors--happy ones!--that Poly will be back online for this season, though I have not yet had such rumors confirmed? Poly, can we get word on this?
Finally, can we get a shout-out from all participant clubs? I'd like to hear back from UCB, CPSLO, UCSC, UCD, UCSB, SCC and CSUF--come on folks, let's get this fired up!
Sincerely,
Thom
