Dear all,
Looking forward to tomorrow's tournament--and I know you are too.
Please remember there is a League Meeting to discuss those issues we need to discuss, Sunday morning, 8 AM at the Posh Bagel in beautiful downtown Davis.
I'd like to remind the Governing Member clubs that attendance at meetings is not only mandatory, it's just a good idea. Only two GM clubs showed at the Fall meeting, Santa Cruz and UCD. And Santa Cruz was the host.
Ideally, GM clubs send two representatives, who each have a vote (and may split their vote yay/nay if they feel like it). Non GM clubs may send reps and participate in discussion, but they do not get to vote. In the event a GM club sends only one rep, that rep has only a single vote. Reps need not be permanent officers; they may be any member of the GM club, which has been authorized by that club to be a rep, and to speak and vote on issues affecting that club within the NCIFL.
So, while casual, it's kind of a big deal.
In the event that not all GM clubs send at least one rep to the meeting for the second time in a row, the president may suggest those present stage a coup and declare themselves a quorum, with full legislative authority. Consider the implications.
Just sayin', right?
See you tomorrow morning--and again on Sunday!
Best,
Thom
