We hope that this email finds you well and eager to begin this new academic year. On behalf of the Annual Conference Committee, we have a few important announcements for you to be aware of in the coming weeks:
 
NCHO Annual Conference Programming Webex - July 28 at 2:00 PM
  • The NCHO programming committee will be hosting another webinar for folks who may have missed the last time NEXT FRIDAY. To join the webinar, click here.
 
Early Registration for the Conference is LIVE!
  • It's Professional/Grad Training Season! We want to see your staff at our conference this October! Not only is this a great professional development opportunity, but this year we are celebrating 50 years of NCHO and we are really looking forward to the programs and opportunities that will be available for attendees. Introducing our KEYNOTE Speaker for this year's conference... Dr. LaFarin Meriwether!
  • We are thrilled to announce that Dr. LaFarin Meriwether will be gracing our stage and sharing their invaluable expertise with all of us!
     
    Dr. LaFarin Meriwether is an educator, scholar, mother, sister, friend and lover of this thing called life. She currently serves as the Associate Director for Residence Life at the University of North Carolina Greensboro. LaFarin received her bachelor’s degrees from the University of Kentucky in Agricultural Economics and Public Service and Leadership; her M.B.A. from the University of Cincinnati; and her doctorate in Higher Education from Florida State University.
     
    LaFarin is an active member within her professional organizations; currently serving as the treasurer for the Southeastern Association of Housing Officers (SEAHO) and a trustee for the Association of College and University Housing Officers -International (ACUHO-I) Foundation board. She has contributed scholarship and knowledge to her profession by presenting on the areas of recruitment and retention of staff, the curricular approach, self-actualization, and organizational leadership and development. LaFarin is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She is the founder of the Phoenix Advantage Consulting Group. You can catch LaFarin weekly co-hosting The Meeting After The Meeting Podcast. She believes that we are all purposed to do something that the world needs.
