Thanks to everyone who is participating in the shared task! It's very
interesting to see the results these different systems are producing,
and of course you are probably wondering "what are all these other
groups doing??"
The best way to answer that would be to read a short paper about each
system, and that's exactly what SemEval hopes will happen! SemEval has
not yet issued a Call for Papers with specifics, but what we know is
the paper submission deadline is February 23, and that papers will be
reviewed by other task participants. In general if you submit a paper
you and your co-authors will be asked to review a few of the other
papers from this task (which should be really interesting).
The formal Call for Papers (with style files, etc.) will soon be found here :
https://semeval.github.io/SemEval2021/
SemEval papers are usually fairly brief (approx 4 pages), and while
they are reviewed the reviewing is supportive and not looking for
reasons to reject. SemEval papers will be published and presented at
the ACL conference in Thailand this August (or during an online
conference if that is how things work out). You are not required to
attend the conference to have your paper published, so do not let that
be a deterrent to submitting!
For now we would suggest making sure that you've made some notes about
the details of your system, and reach a decision among your colleagues
as to whether you'd like to submit a paper (it is not required, but of
course we hope you do). Further details should be forthcoming from
SemEval, and if you have any additional questions we would be happy to
answer them here as well.
Sincerely,
Ted (on behalf of the NLP Contribution Graph task organizers)
