So, I'm reading through "The Physics of Star Trek", written bu
Mister Krauss, and he goes on to explain the black hole phenomenon and how
star trek was astoundingly psychic in describing them very well a few
months before they were even discovered.
Well, this isn't the spooky part.
I won't go on to explain black holes in this post, you can mail me
and I'll tell you all about them.
But as it turns out, the amount of matter in our universe,
distributed about at the density of any average section of our universe,
is just about right to make one whopping huge black hole.
Scientists right now are discussing and debating (This from
another source, not the book) the possibility that we may be living inside
a big event horizon shell. That also seems to explain why there appear to
be stars beyond the edge of where the edge of the universe should be...
they're just reflctions in the event horizon.
As if that wasn't spooky enough, I think just the fact that as
human beings we can calculate the mean density of any section of space and
roughly figure out the size of the universe is a feat in itself worthy of
considerable awe. :)

Speaking of spooky... I hadn't heard the theory that we're al living in a
black hole (We all live in a big black hole...) but we were discussing
exactly that at the campfire the other night.

Ooooooh.. Terri is psychically linked to my NCF postings. :)
I should make postings about baking cookies for people with
beards... :)

I can't. None of them sound right. Jayi? Jasi? Jasoni?
I can stick it on the end, and if people could just aknowledge
it's presence without pronoucning it...

*silly*... it's Jai. Or, hey, how about Ji? Or I? ii? (jane's logic:
y = i and j = y [i.e., Jugoslavia/Yugoslavia).
...jane...

that's not to reminiscnent of

Believe me Jane, just about *anything* is too reminiscent of me. Most
people spend their lives shuddering at the very thought of my existence,
hiding in their rooms and trying to deny my reality. They don't *need*
you to remind them of me.
Evil woman.
