If you are really interested, go to the Hale-Bopp homepage, which I
think is http://www.halebopp.com or go to the NASA page. There are
articles, info, etc... And "NO", it is not going to hit Earth, nor
even come close to us. And "NO", there is not an object following it.
There are hundreds of people taking pictures of it, and they can be
found all over the web.
If you want to see it for yourself, get up just before dawn, and
look due east, with a pair of binoculars. It is clearly visible by 5am
on the west coast of the US. It is currently about 15 degrees above the
horizon at 5am. To figure out how high 15 degrees is, the width of your
closed fist is appx 10 degrees. It will appear as a bright fuzzy
object.
