Great Master Cha^n Gia'c brought the anecdote to ask Great Master
Huye^`n
Ngo^. :
- The eye gate shines light, destructs mountains and rivers. Mountains
and rivers,
the earth do not obstruct the light of eye. What was the fault of that
man ( Yun
Yen ) who needs filter ?
Great Master Huye^`n Ngo^. said :
- Except for two persons, from them down, suppose you are awakened, you
still
need filter.
Asked :
- Who are they ( two persons ) ?
Replied :
- India, one; T'ang dynasty, one.
Asked :
- Who is the person in India ?
Replied :
- Layman Vimalakirti.
- Who is the person in T'ang dynasty ?
Replied :
- Song La^m Truye^`n Dda.i Si~ ( 1).
Asked :
- What did those two persons have as circumstances so that they do not
need
filter ?
Replied :
- Compare to you, they are much more above.
( This was recounted by Long Hoa, it's like the one recounted by Tsu
T'ang ).(2)

(1) I don't know who's who. TTTNL said that Vimalakirti and Song La^m
Truye^`n DDa. Si~ both are laymen. He could be Hui Neng.
(2) TTTNL says that Long Hoa is a person. As for Tsu T'ang, is it a
person or this
book. If it points to this book, then it's quite strange.
