Venerable Tao Wu, left family to be monk at 46, of family Vu+o+ng. He
was
native of Kie^'n Xu+o+ng district, of Chung La(ng province. Venerable
Yun Yen
was his little brother. Yun Yen was the first to left home to be monk.
At Pai
Cheng, he was the attendent. At home Tao Wu was a detective officer. One
day,
he travelled about 500 miles from home, he came to ask for food in a
guest
house of Pai Cheng. At that time, the attendent ( Yun Yen ) was at the
guest
house. The superintendent of the guest house asked the attendent to
greet the
guest. The attendent came out to greet the guest, and after the ceremony
he
asked :
- Where are you living, Sir ?
Replied :
- I am native of Kie^'n Xu+o+ng at Chung La(ng.
- What is your family name ?
Replied :
- I am of Vu+o+ng family.
The attendent regconized in him his big brother. They embraced each
other and
wept. The attendent asked :
- How is mother ?
Replied :
- She wanted you, big brother (1), so why she wept a lot. She lost the
sight of an
eye, then died.
After the attendent heard the news, that day, he came back to the
monastery, he
introduced his brother to Pai Cheng.
