What's the most obvious way to start the new year? By reflecting on the
past year. Very cliche, but what can you do? I think it's still a good
idea. Here's a look at my favourite albums from 1997. For the complete
list, with notes, see accompanying post. I actually managed my time
better than last year, in that I played something from almost everything
on my list. There are a few things which I knew I could not play, but
will be played in their entirety soon, such as the Rag Ahiri with Mustapha
Raza and Astor Piazzolla's Maria de Buenos Aires.
