TURMEL: HAMILTON ELECTION: Canadian National LETS at issue
WORLD WITHOUT USURY:
I am John The Engineer Turmel, founder of the Abolitionist Party
of Canada which will use the LETS Greendollar or Timedollar software
on global databases to Abolish Interest Rates.
Upgrading the current banking software (1/(s-i)) to the next
generation LETS software (1/s) would permit the national or global
conversion of exponential interest-bearing debts into linear interest-
free debts within the banks' computers. Most people can't imagine a
world without debts but that the promise of Universal LETS Green and
Timedollars.
This message should primarily interest those involved in LETS
Green or Time dollar Local Employment Trading Systems or monetary
reform in general.
CANDIDATE PETITION FOR LETS:
As a candidate in the Hamilton East Canadian federal by-election,
I will judge my success in how many of the other 12 candidates I can
get to stand for LETS with me. To that end, I've prepared a
"Candidate's Petition" which reads:
We, the undersigned candidates in the June 17, 1996 Hamilton East
federal by-election, if elected, recommend to the
Government of Canada that a national LETS Greendollar system be
instituted."
And so much the better if the Liberal incumbent who would go
right back into cabinet with it.
Having run myself in Hamilton West promising that I'd set up an
older program called Greenbacks for them on my portable computer, now
I don't even need to get elected or promise to do the set-up when they
can now do it for themselves.
DO-IT-YOURSELF ANYWAY
My challenge to the voters of any district where a LETSystem is
up and running is to take a look at whether getting connected to a new
source of credit might not be of benefit to them too. Residents of
Hamilton should set up the software and give themselves a loan. Why
pledge their houses for bankers dollars at a time-fee when they can
pledge their houses to our own Greendollar banker for one time
transaction fee.
This good news of interest-free Greendollar banking breaking the
cycle of unemployment is now available on the Internet. Any circle of
baby-sitters and grass-cutters could start up their very own little
personal LETS while awaiting hook-up to the biggest one that sprouts
up near them.
Unemployed Hamilton engineers should set up a Greendollar system
up themselves and I don't even have to get elected to have achieved my
only election promise. They call LETS an "economic life-boat" and
anything that helps one obtain employment, even local employment, is a
life-boat.

LETS POLITICAL ISSUE
As larger numbers of Local Employment Trading Systems sprout up
around, larger government implementation of such a beneficial system
may soon become a political issue. Those living in the United Kingdom
where over 400 Greendollar bank branches have sprouted up or in
Australia near one of the 200 Greendollar branches or in New Zealand
with 60 or Holland with 60 or the United States with dozens of "Time
Dollar" branches which use the same interest-free LETS software, or
France, Spain, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Poland, all have access to
some interest-free Greendollar credit and may soon demand that it be
organized most professionally.
TIME FOR THE BIG TIME
I like to think of myself as the "Papa" of the LETSystem for
having provided the seed money afget giving LETS my Engineering Seal
of Approval. Michael Linton did the hard part of mothering the LETS
software through its birth and Local infancy performances but I've
always held far grander hopes than mere local employment, as any proud
papa would.
To promote a high-performance large-database Global Employment as
a financial cure-all, I launched a massive educational and world-
record political campaign. This is my forty-first campaign for
interest-free money.
I see all those LETSystems sprouting up all around the world like
little self-contained bank branches based on a unifying mathematical
equation in the software (1/s). And I applaud the attempts to unify.
I count more than eight hundred little and medium do-it-yourself
LETS branches now spread around the world with hundreds more every
year. Accepting an Hour's labor as the Universal common denominator,
all those little branches will soon interconnect into one of the
largest interest-free currency networks in the world. All other
interest-free commercial barter systems will also interconnect.
NATIONAL DATABASE
My current goal is to get my request for a Canadian National
Greendollar system into Parliament with whoever wins the ticket.
Installing LETS on a whole national database is a great way to start
but it's only a stepping stone to a usury-free Global Employment
Trading System. But why should we have to build it for ourselves when
it's something well within the Government's power to give us. Stay
tuned for my vision of our future with LETS.
