Like a stuck record, he trots out the same old stuff as umpteen times
before and again manages to score a couple of own goals:
1. How big is the supermarket actually going to be? Well, according to
the planning application it is 1066 square metres (net retail space),
and it tells us that CK's has 400 square metres. So that's just over
two-and-a-half times as big as CK's then. Next he tells the Town
Council that it will be just 10% larger than CK's, and that a building
a described in his application wouldn't fit on the site. Now he tells
the Tivyside that it will be one-and-a-half times the size of CK's.
2. Incredibly, yet again he tells the Tivyside that he is going to
double car parking provision. According to the application, he will
create a total of 114 spaces, compared with 65 currently (although
some of the new spaces will be reserved for staff). Using old-
fashioned maths, that's an increase of 40%.
Perhaps this comes from a lifetime of selling used cars.
