| Dear Mr Willis I am writing to you on behalf of the Newcastle Emlyn Action Group with regard to this application, and I would be grateful if you could respond to the following questions: 1. The Authority's website states that the re-application was opened on 4 December, and it gives the public and interested parties only 21 days in which to respond. In view of the controversial nature of the application and the proximity to Christmas, would the Authority be prepared to extend the deadline for objections to the end of January 2010? I also note that the notices posted on the Cawdor site state that the application was opened on 16 December (sic), with a closing date given in early January. 2. As you will recall, the initial application attracted a large number of objections. In view of the fact that this is a re-application rather than a new application, and that in many essentials the revised application is the same, will the Authority agree to carry over objections and comments submitted under the initial application? 3. A number of the supporting documents relating to the initial application and the newly submitted retail impact assessment refer to Nathaniel Lichfield Partnership's "Carmarthenshire Retail Study" from 2000 and its updates from 2004 and 2009. Will the Authority put this document into the public domain in the interests of balance and transparency, since it is evident that the applicant and his agents have had sight of it? I look forward to receiving your answers at your earliest convenience. Yours sincerely Richard Vale |
