A long letter, but the main points are concerns about the risk of contamination from the old rubbish dumps, the need for more testing to make sure there is no anthrax present, and the potential for damage to nearby buildings as a result of pile driving. |

And this was Haydn's reply.
Thank you for your comprehensive review of the survey programme
carried out at the Tanyard site. I certainly do not have the expertise
to answer all your questions. However what is currently taking place
is that the reports are being professionally studied by our Building
Control section and most certainly our Public Protection(Environmental
Health) section. Their comments will be taken into consideration and
will look at the issues that you highlight in your letter. If at that
point, and together with an Ecologist report and the Environmental
agency study it is considered that further work is necessary it will
be then that further work may be needed. I can assure you we take
issues of public health very seriously. We went through a very
similar exercise in the mart development in Carmarthen which was at
one time a site of a former slaughter house.
I thank you for your concern but at the current stage I must leave the
normal procedure continue as indeed is the highway report.
Yours sincerely Haydn Jones
P.S Your letter has been forwarded to form part of the study Haydn
