IMPORTANT COMMUNICATION

The Chamber is informed by Mr. D.K.Rajapaksa, Past President that Mr.
P.D. Fernando, the Sri Lanka Commercial Secretary in Australia who is
in Sri Lanka for the next couple of weeks, wishes to ascertain from
member exporters who are facing quarantine issues when exporting
products to Australia.

It is understood that containers of certain exporters have been
rejected due to quarantine issues.

In this regard, Mr. P.D. Fernando has offered to take up such issues
directly with the Higher Authorities in Australia with a view to
finding solutions.

He has offered to attend the Council Meeting of the chamber scheduled
for 20th May to discuss such issues with the chamber.

He is also prepared to meet with any member exporter on a one to one
basis if any member does not wish to discuss the issues in an open
forum.

Member Exporters are kindly requested to inform the Chamber problems
faced by them with their contact names and addresses to enable the
Chamber to do the needful.

With kind regards

L.S.G. Tillekeratne
Director Member Services
