Dear Member,

CLEANER PRODUCTION CONSULTANT TRAINING PROGRAMME 2010

We are quoting below a relevant section of a communication letter of
5th July 2010, addressed to the President of the NCE by the National
Cleaner Production Centre, Sri Lanka (NCPC) regarding the above
subject, which is self-explanatory.

Quote
“To Develop Capacity in Sri Lanka to conduct Cleaner Production
Assessment”
Developing capacity in Sri Lanka to conduct Cleaner Production (CP)
Assessments is a core element in the mandate of National Cleaner
Production Centre (NCPC). Accordingly, we have organized a CP
Consultant Training Programme in this year 2010 to train about twenty
(20) CP Consultants who are competent then in conducting CP
assessments at firm level.

The Individuals can qualify by following this programme as CP
Consultants to practice CP as freelance consultants fulfilling the
demand of the industry; they also can assist NCPC as External Resource
Personnel using their expertise when there is a need. Enterprises can
use this opportunity to train their personnel and hence to conduct
comprehensive CP assessments in the organizations in a cost effective
manner. Public sector personnel especially those who are engaged in
industry related activities find this as an opportunity to enhance
their essential competencies.

The Training Programme will be held for seven days in full time basis
from 9th to 13th and 16th & 17th August 2010 from 8.30 am to 5.00 pm
at Hotel Renuka, No.328, Galle Road, Colombo 3. Subsequently, the
trainees will be guided to conduct a CP assessment in a given
organization as partial fulfillment of their training. A Certificate
will be awarded to the participant as a “Cleaner Production
Consultant” upon successful completion of training. The details of
the programme with the application form are enclosed herewith. The
same can be downloaded from NCPC website with the link
www.ncpcsrilanka.org/trainingprogrammes.php

We would like to propose you also to train some personnel from your
Chamber. NCPC has subsidized this and will charge total fee of LKR
25,000/= per participant to cover the costs partially.

Should you need any further details of clarifications on this
programme, please do not hesitate to contact Mr Samantha Kumarasena,
Deputy Director or Mr V R Sena Peiris – Director”

The copy of the application form and details of the programme are also
available with the Secretariat of the NCE for those members who are
interested in nominating applicants.

With kind regards,
