NATIONAL EXPORT DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY 2010 - 2020

Dear Member

The Export Development Board is in the process of formulating a
national export strategy covering the period 2010 - 2020 in
collaboration with a stake holder and the National Council for
Economic Development (NCED).

The EDB has stated an annual export target for the year 2020 according
to which the baseline forecast is US$. 20 billion.

In order to increase export revenue to meet the Government Development
ojbectives, it is essential to address the constraints which are
impediments to the sustainable developments of this vital sector. In
this regard the EDB wishes to obtain views of the Export community to
identify impediments presently experienced by the Sector and the
remedial actions that are intended to resolve them, in order to
achieve the objective export targets.

In this regard you are kindly requested to submit your comments and
view to the Chamber for the development of the export sector with a
view to formulate a National Export strategy and thereby maximise the
contribution to the national economy.

For the above purpose we are pleased to attach herewith a format for
your guidance to enable you to submit your views. Annexure I and also
a list indicating target export sectors Annexure II.

THE CHAMBER WILL APPRECIATE IF YOU WOULD SUBMIT YOUR SECTOR SPECIFIC
VIEWS AND RECOMMENDATION TO REACH THE CHAMBER ON OR BEFORE THE 16TH
NOVEMBER 2009 TO ENABLE THE CHAMBER TO COLLATE THE INFORMATION AND
FORWARD TO THE EDB FORTHWITH.
