Dear Member,
Mini Budget July – December 2010 and Main Budget 2011
As you are aware, the Government is due to present Mini Budget
Proposals covering the period July – December 2010, during the month
of July. Thereafter the Main Budge Proposals for 2011 are due to be
presented in November 2010 as usual.
It is most likely that the Ministry of Finance & Planning will request
Chambers to submit proposals at short notice. As such, the NCE has to
be prepared to submit meaningful proposals covering the export sector
after evaluation and consolidation of the representations made by
member companies.
Member companies of the NCE are kindly requested to submit to the
chamber their proposals, firstly covering the Mini Budget, as early as
possible, but before 31st May 2010 at the very latest.
Members are requested to please note that proposals should focus not
on individual company issues but on meaningful measures that could be
adopted to develop their particular sector.
Therefore proposals should outline the benefits that would accrue to
the sector in particular and the economy in general through the
development and expansion of exports, in relation to the expenditure
that will have to be incurred for the implementation of the proposals.
Member companies, who do not submit proposals by 31st May 2010 at the
very latest, will be presumed by the Chamber not to have any proposals
for submission.
Kind regards
L.S.G. Tillekeratne
Director Member Services
