Greetings from National Campaign on Dalit Human Rights(NCDHR) and Oxfam!
At the outset, we extend thanks for your valuable inputs in our presentation and discussions in Inter Agency Meeting on Aug 24 at Patna on the assessment conducted by Dalit Watch regarding exclusion and discrimination of Dalit communities in the current flood relief and response in Bihar. On discussion with IAG and state functionaries, we are encouraged by the interest in addressing the concerns raised by Dalit Watch both for short term as well as long-term solutions. In the process, we hope to set a collective process in motion to bring together the state and other stakeholders to give greater clarity to the issues and the necessary focus and nuances in the response in the present flood situation.
To further brainstorm on the subject and bring in your views and action plan, we invite you on September 7-8 for a consultation meeting on "Equity and inclusion in relief and rehabilitation in the context of Bihar floods". Venue is Centre for Disaster Management, 1 Anne Marg, Patna, Bihar.
Social Equity Audit (SEA) group and National Campaign on Dalit Human Rights (NCDHR) members will be facilitating the consultations.
Please ensure your presence and provide valuable inputs in consultation meeting.
Please find attached the concept note drafted by Annie Namala, from IIDS, Indian Institute of Dalit Studies who is a member of SEA.
Looking forward to meet you all
Best Regards
Oxfam and National Campaign on Dalit Human Rights (NCDHR)
